CISO Deep-Dive training program


Why is it in the news?

  • The 43rd CISO Deep-Dive training program was organized by the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) as part of its Capacity Building scheme.

  • Held from April 8-12, 2024, the training program took place at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi.
  • Senior officials from nine states across India, including representatives from MeitY, NeGD, and IIPA, attended the event.
  • The primary aim of the program was to enhance cyber resilience among Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs).
  • It provided insights into cyber threats, the latest protection technologies, legal frameworks, and policy formulation for cyber security.
  • The training program aligned with the Digital India initiative by fostering cyber safety and security awareness among government departments. This initiative contributes to the development of a cyber-resilient ecosystem.
  • The program offered comprehensive information and knowledge about cyber security to enable government departments to maintain cyber hygiene, safety, and security effectively.
  • This CISO training represents a pioneering partnership between the Government and industry consortium, operating under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.
About ‘Cyber Surakshit Bharat’

·    The ‘Cyber Surakshit Bharat’ initiative was launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in 2018.

·    The primary aim of the initiative is to raise awareness about cybercrime and enhance the capacity for implementing safety measures among Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and frontline IT staff in all government departments.

·     This initiative represents a pioneering public-private partnership model. It harnesses the expertise of the IT industry in cybersecurity, collaborating with MeitY’s organizations such as CDAC, CERT-In, NIC, and STQC, which serve as knowledge partners.
