- The Acing Development of Innovative Technologies with iDEX (ADITI) scheme, launched under the iDEX framework.
About the Scheme
- The scheme aims to foster the development of approximately 30 deep-tech critical and strategic technologies within the specified timeframe.
- The Ministry of Defence provides grants covering up to 50% of the product development budget, with a maximum cap of Rs. 25 Crore.
- Emphasis is placed on technologies crucial for national security, particularly in areas where the country lacks existing capabilities. These technologies are expected to have core Defence applications and also possess potential for export.
- The scheme is open to various entities, including startups recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Indian companies incorporated under the Companies Act 1956/2013 (primarily MSMEs), and individual innovators registered as Startup/MSMEs.
- ADITI includes the development of a Technology Watch Tool, which serves to bridge the gap between the expectations and requirements of the modern Armed Forces and the capabilities of the defence innovation ecosystem.
- The scheme is operational for the tenure spanning from 2023-24 to 2025-26.
| iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) · iDEX operates under the purview of the Defence Innovation Organization (DIO), established as a Section 8 company jointly by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). · Under iDEX, winners of the Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC) receive financial support up to Rs. 1.5 crores from iDEX-DIO. · Furthermore, iDEX has been expanded to iDEX Prime, offering increased assistance up to Rs. 10 crores, aimed at motivating young innovators and fostering a vibrant ecosystem of defence innovation.
